Information for Visiting Canada

Document & Passport Requirements

A valid passport is the only universally accepted identification document and should be used to enter Canada.

U.S. citizens are exempt from the eTA and visa requirements below but must carry proper identification such as a valid U.S. passport (or NEXUS at select points of entry only).

Visa Requirements

Find out if you need a visa to travel to Canada: https://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/visas.asp

If you need a visa, please apply ASAP. If you need a letter to support your application, please email your request and contact details to admin@northernfinanceassociation.org

Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) Requirement

Most travellers need a visa or an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) to fly to, or transit through, a Canadian airport. Applying for an eTA is a simple online process that takes just a few minutes to complete. Most applicants get their eTA approval (via an email) within minutes. However, some requests can take several days to process if you’re asked to submit supporting documents. It is best to get an eTA before you book your flight to Canada.
